The telecom industry will not lead mobile service innovation

While facilitating a panel at Telecom World in Geneva it suddenly became clear to me that the major telecom players will not be the ones that drive mobile service innovation, even though they would like to. The innovation will happen on devices and networks created by the big players, but others will actually realise that innovation.
