Fjord and txtr at Mobile World Congress

February 10th 2010

Fjord and txtr believe that a transformation is imminent in the mobile industry: connected reading.

New devices and online platforms are changing reading from a solitary act into a social activity. This transformation will lead to several new business fields. txtr, a builder of hardware, online platforms and services for connected digital reading, is working together with Fjord, Europe’s leading cross platform design agency, to establish txtr as a key platform for document searching and sharing.

Fjord started by exploring the service use cases around digitalization and mobility of reading and conducting industry benchmarking. Combined with txtr’s vision of connected reading, a new interactive design style guide and branding were conceived.

At Mobile World Congress, Fjord and txtr will be demonstrating the results and sharing their vision for the future of media at Fjord’s stand (Hall1, Stand E19) on Weds 18th February from 5pm.

Christian Lindholm, Managing Partner, Fjord, says, “We are really excited to support txtr’s vision in this exciting domain where there is lots of opportunity for mobile handset vendors and operators. We see a growing interest across the telecom space for connected readers – especially after the recent iPad launch.”

Christophe Maire, CEO, txtr, points out, “Our vision for connected reading requires a holistic approach to design with sensitivity to mobility. Fjord’s ability to work across all screens was a key criterion for us, and we've been very happy with the output from the team. txtr’s connected reading platform provides significant opportunities for operators and handset vendors to expand their focus, while leveraging their existing networks and micropayment capabilities.”
