Designers in Stockholm is a community that aims to bring designers together who are work and live in Stockholm. The idea is to create a community, make friends and find inspiration.
Fjord was honoured to host the second gathering of this community last week to discuss some areas of interest. Over 35 designers of all different sorts filled the Stockholm studio to listen to the lectures, which were held by illustrator Therese Larsson and industrial designer and design strategist Ricardo Sá Freire
“It is very important to have a network. Our world is constantly changing and it is good to meet new people. Different people have different ways of thinking, and they can help us get new ideas and perspectives,” says Fran Merino, Visual Design Lead at Fjord, who organised the meet up.
Designers in Stockholm was started by Dennys Hess, with the goal of becoming a gathering place where designers can exchange ideas, knowledge and ideas. It was always important to Dennys that all designers be welcome to the community. “Design is everything. Design is everywhere. So why would we just invite graphic designers, service designers and interaction designers? I might as well get inspiration from a plumber. Good design changes the world, it is the most important thing,” adds Fran Merino.
The next Designers in Stockholm event will be held in early May. Check out the Facebook group here for further details. See you there!
