Today, Fjord, the leading digital design consultancy, announces that it has tapped Publicis Modem EVP and Managing Director Hyo Young Yeon to serve as President for Fjord US. Hyo will be based in New York with frequent travel to Fjord’s newly opened San Francisco offices.
Hyo, who worked as an independent consultant before assuming her role at Publicis in February of this year and previously served senior-level tenures at Schematic, Inc.; Razorfish; Andersen Consulting; and FCBi, among others, will report to group COO Andrew Falcon in the newly created role. “The US is a strategic market for Fjord. We’ve been operating here since 2009, building a world class design team and working with market leading clients. As we expand our presence stateside we wanted to bring on a seasoned design executive to fully take advantage of the US market opportunity,” Andrew says of Hyo’s appointment.
“We have a staff of 21 people in the US,” adds Olof Schybergson, Fjord Founder and CEO, “and they have helped Fjord see its revenue in the Americas more than double over the last year. Under Hyo’s leadership, we’re confident we will continue to grow rapidly through deep client collaboration and innovative project work.”
Hyo will hit the ground running with Fjord’s robust profile of American clients. “I’m thrilled to join the dynamic American team Fjord has assembled,” she said at the time of her hiring, “and look forward to guiding its growth, both internally and externally, as we enter the new year. I’ve always had a passion for user-centric digital service design, and I look forward to joining Fjord and the talented team they have built in New York and San Francisco.”
